Your Journey to Wellness Starts Here

Services Offered

  • A woman with short dark hair, glasses, and a blazer takes notes during an appointment with a woman with long red hair in a Romper Room, a modern office with bookshelves, plants, and framed pictures.

Individual Counselling Session - 60 minutes

A 60-minute counselling session provides dedicated time and space for you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a supportive environment. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels comfortable to you—whether that means gaining clarity around current challenges, developing coping strategies, or deepening personal insight. This session length allows for meaningful exploration while leaving time to integrate tools and strategies that support your well-being outside of therapy.

  • Person sitting on a dark gray couch with hands clasped in front, in a dimly lit room with wooden flooring.

Individual Counselling Session - 90 minutes

A 90-minute counselling session offers extended time for deeper exploration and reflection. This format is especially helpful if you’d like more space to process complex experiences, work through relationship dynamics, or engage in specialized exercises without feeling rushed. The additional time allows us to move at a steady pace, while still creating space to integrate insights and practical strategies that support your growth and well-being beyond the session.

  • A young man and woman having a serious conversation indoors, sitting on a beige couch with a large green plant in the background.

Couples Counselling Session - 90 minutes

Couples counselling requires time and space for both partners to share, reflect, and feel heard. A 90-minute session allows us to slow down the conversation, explore relationship dynamics in greater depth, and work through communication patterns without feeling rushed. This extended time frame ensures each partner has the opportunity to express themselves fully while also leaving space for collaborative problem-solving and learning new tools. The 90-minute format creates a more balanced, supportive environment for meaningful progress together.

  • Person in a yellow sweater working on a laptop, with a notebook nearby, sitting at a wooden table.

Virtual Counselling Session - 60 minutes

A 60-minute virtual counselling session offers the same care and support of in-person therapy, with the convenience of connecting from your own space. Using a secure video platform, we can explore current challenges, develop coping strategies, and work toward your personal goals in a setting that feels comfortable and accessible. Virtual sessions are ideal for those with busy schedules, remote locations, or a preference for the flexibility of online counselling.

Meet me

Courtney Banks, MA, CCC

A woman with blonde hair and blue eyes, wearing a black knitted sweater, is sitting on a brown couch with framed pictures on the wall behind her. She is smiling and resting her chin on her hand.

I was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon, and my deep connection to this community brings a personal touch to my counselling practice. I work with clients on a range of concerns including anxiety, trauma, and life transitions, while also focusing my practice on couples, 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, and sex therapy.

From a trauma-informed, holistic lens, I use evidence-based practices such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. I also hold additional certifications in Emotion-Focused Family Therapy and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. My areas of focus and passion are working with individuals and couples on concerns related to stress, anxiety, gender, sexuality, intimacy, trauma, and life transitions.

My approach to counselling is rooted in building strong therapeutic relationships with my clients. I strive to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly. At the same time, I am a therapist who will gently hold you accountable—supporting you in taking steps toward meaningful change, while honoring your pace and your story. Together, we can build upon your strengths, develop new coping skills, strengthen resilience, and work toward your goals.

I am committed to ongoing professional development to ensure the highest quality of care. I am currently working toward certification with the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT), the leading professional body setting standards for sex therapy, and working towards registration as a psychologist.

Whether you are facing a specific life challenge, seeking personal growth, or looking to enhance your intimate and relational well-being, I am here to support you on your journey to emotional health and connection.
